About Boston Film Academy

Mission

Our mission is to make high-quality film education both accessible and inspiring.

We believe in the inherent artistry of every student, and that with the right tools, guidance, and opportunities, young filmmakers can discover and express their unique voice.

Boston Film Academy provides the structure, mentorship, and creative space for that growth to happen.

Meet the Founder

David Broyles is the Founder & Director of Boston Film Academy.

He made his first movies at age 11 with his dad’s Hi8 camera and a basement studio he built with friends and support from his middle school. David earned his BA in Film Production from Emerson College, where he co-founded Omnes Films, a collaborative film production company whose work has screened at Cannes, AFI Fest, Locarno, and festivals worldwide. He later freelanced on Oscar-nominated and winning films in Los Angeles. Today, David teaches Film & Theatre in Arlington Public Schools and is driven by his mission to help the next generation of storytellers find and utilize their creative intuition.

David Broyles, Founder of Boston Film Academy
"A successful classroom is rooted in the shared understanding of a safe, supportive environment. Where no idea is too big, and every idea is attainable. The joy comes from translating our dreams into a shared reality."

-David Broyles, Founder & Director of Boston Film Academy
